How Gingivitis Develops

One of the main reasons we brush our teeth is to eliminate the buildup of plaque. Plaque is bacteria that grows across the surface of our teeth. If the plaque on our teeth is allowed to remain in place, it can lead to serious dental issue like gingivitis.

Gingivitis is a disease that causes the gums to become red and inflamed. It can also cause the gums to bleed while you are brushing your teeth or flossing. If the issue is not properly addressed, gingivitis can lead to a much more serious dental infection known as periodontitis.

At our dental health spa, we can provide your teeth with the care they need to stay and healthy and beautiful for years. If you need help preventing or managing gingivitis, contact our office to schedule an appointment.
